CHEYENNE – Back-to-back three-run innings helped the Cheyenne Extreme under-18 club softball team open the Wyoming state tournament with a 7-0 win over Sheridan’s Wyoming Mistix on Friday in Gillette.
Cheyenne led 1-0 after the first inning before a RBI sacrifice fly from Taylor Hollibaugh scored Kalissa Terrell. Jaleigh Bohac scored on an ensuing throwing error to make it 3-0. Clare Schlothauer scored Kami Harris one batter later on an RBI single.
Extreme put three more across in the next inning to seal the win off back-to-back home runs by Terrell and Bohac.
Schlothauer, Bohac, Terrell and Landri Vaughn had two-hit games for Cheyenne. Brooklyn Lake picked up the win in the circle, throwing all five innings and surrendering just two hits while striking out eight.

CHEYENNE – Nine runs in the second inning helped power the WYCO Post 6 under-16 club softball team to a 10-0 run-rule win over the Wyoming Stampede to open the state club softball tournament Friday in Gillette.
Ivy Waszkiewicz added a double and team-leading three RBI. Emery Boyer and Jordan Erickson added doubles. Mya Connell had a triple.
Taylee Young recorded the only hit for the Stampede Friday, which came in the first inning.
