CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – After two straight years missing that state tournament, the North Linn softball team is just one win away from getting to Fort Dodge.
The Lynx jumped all over Calamus-Wheatland, beating the Warriors 12-2 in the 1A regional semifinal.
Calamus Wheatland ends their season with a 19-18 record.
The Lynx will take on Edgewood-Colesburg with a trip to state on the line.
Over in 4A baseball, the Linn-Mar Lions are hoping to get back to the state tournament for the first time since 2017. They are two wins away after beating Iowa City West 8-2.
The Trojans end their season at 13-26.
The Lions will play Southeast Polk on Monday, the winner gets Cedar Rapids Kennedy in the substate final.
