(KBTX) — Texas A&M rising senior Bear Harrison was drafted in the fifth round of the 2026 MLB draft with the 160th overall pick by the New York Yankees.
Harrison started 52 games at catcher for the Aggies in 2026. He hit .297 with 15 doubles, 12 home runs and 35 RBI. He also threw out 11 runners while behind the plate.
Prior to his two seasons in College Station, the Danville, California, native started his collegiate career at Saint Mary’s, where he was named to the West Coast Conference all-freshman team.
Harrison is the fifth Aggie to be selected in the 2026 MLB draft. Chris Hacopian (1.11), Caden Sorrell (2.62), Gavin Grahovac (3.81) and Shane Sdao (4.120) were all picked on the first day of the draft.
