The San Francisco Giants welcome the San Diego Padres to Oracle Park tonight to begin a four-game series.
Taking the mound for the Giants will be right-hander Logan Webb, who enters tonight’s game with a 2.82 ERA, 2.19 FIP, with 84 strikeouts to 17 walks in 73.1 innings pitched over 12 starts. His last start was in the Giants’ 3-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday, in which he allowed three runs on seven hits with 10 strikeouts and a walks in six innings. And got no run support for his efforts.
He’ll be facing off against Padres right-hander Stephen Kolek, who enters tonight’s game with a 4.11 ERA, 3.86 FIP, with 24 strikeouts to 10 walks in 30.2 innings pitched in five starts. His last start was in the Padres’ 8-6 win over the Miami Marlins, in which he allowed six runs on six hits with three strikeouts and two walks in five and a third innings.
