KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Royals made a trade over the All-Star break, adding some additional pitching help to the 40-man roster.
On Tuesday, the Royals announced they acquired right-handed pitcher Easton McGee from the Milwaukee Brewers for cash considerations.
McGee was designated for assignment by the Brewers last week and will report to Triple-A Omaha upon completion of the trade.
The 28-year-old spent brief periods of this season with the NL Central-leading Brewers, making two appearances and pitching 2.0 scoreless innings.
Since the start of 2025, he’s gone 9-2 with a 4.53 ERA across 89.1 innings of work with the Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate, the Nashville Sounds.
McGee made his MLB debut with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2022 and has pitched in 13 career MLB games. The Royals will be the fifth organization he’s been a part of.
