POYEN — The “Roll Tribe” Poyen Indians baseball kept their play stout on the diamond during the 2026 baseball season. As a result, the Tribe ignited some well-deserved postseason honors with five Indians earning special recognition—Colt Barrett, Hayden Murray, Sutter Speer and Hunter Woods all earned All-Conference while Kaden Rushing received All-Conference Honorable Mention.
The Indians battled hard throughout the 2A-8 Conference season and during their non-conference schedule.
As the No. 7 seed for the 2A-8 District Tournament, the Tribe defeated arch-rival No. 6 seed Magnet Cove in the first round—advancing to the quarterfinals where Poyen’s season and postseason hopes came to an to No. 3 seed Parkers Chapel in the regional tournament qualifying game.
The Tribe secured impressive victories against Hampton twice, Gurdon, Arkansas Christian Academy, Magnet Cove, Jessieville, Rison and Parkers Chapel.
The Indians finished the 2026 baseball season at 8-8 overall under the direction of head baseball coach Keith Barrett and assistant coach Adam Leatherwood.
