STONINGTON —  Michael Keefe went 3-for-3 with a solo home run in the first inning and No.4 Stonington edged No. 29 Watertown, 5-3, in a Class M first-round game.

The Bears (17-6) scored twice in the third and added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Cam Ogden picked up the win – scattering seven hits over five innings with eight strikeouts. Both runs scored by the Warriors (7-14) in the fifth were unearned.

Sean Durham recorded the final two outs in the seventh for the save.

Stonington hosts No. 13 Nonnewaug on Tuesday in the second round. The Chiefs (14-7) scored three runs after two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning in a 6-5 victory over No. 20 Wolcott in the first round.
