ARLINGTON — The Rangers injected some talent into their relatively thin farm system this month.
Rojas, a standout southpaw from Stoneman Douglas (Fla.), was considered by many the best high school pitcher in the class. He “is a tremendous athlete with great movement patterns on the mound and a lean frame that should continue to add good weight,” according to Baseball America, and is now the team’s second-ranked full-time pitching prospect behind only right-handed pitcher Caden Scarborough. Two-way player Josh Owens, who is both a shortstop and right-handed pitcher, is the organization’s third-ranked prospect between the two.
Comeau, an Austin Anderson alum, was described by Baseball America as a “projectable young slugger” with “ingredients to hit and a body to dream on.” The 6-4 high school infielder is now the second-ranked full-time position player prospect in the organization behind only top-ranked shortstop Sebastian Walcott.
