KANE — The DuBois Central Catholic baseball team bounced back from being no hit in an 8-0 loss to DuBois Saturday in the City Classic to throwing a no-hitter itself Tuesday in a 10-0, 5-inning victory at Kane.

Senior Blake Pisarcik tossed that no-no, striking out 11 while allowing just two base runners in five innings of work.

Kane’s Brock Wensel drew a walk with one in the bottom of the first, while Phinn Chamberlain reached on an error to leadoff the second. That proved to be it base runner-wise for Kane, as Pisarcik retired the final 12 Wolves he faced.

Pisarcik was backed by an offense that churned out 14 hits in scoring 10 runs, and the Cardinals wasted little time seizing control as they scored four runs in each of the first two innings to take a commanding 8-0 lead.

Aiden Sbowberger got DCC off and running with a single to lead off the game, then hustled around to third on a single to center by Brayden Fox with one away. Carter Himes and Trent Miller followed with back-to-back singles that scored Snowberger and Fox to put DCC up 2-0.

Central wasn’t quite done in the inning though, as Evan Burton and Xavier Schwentner each delivered RBI singles with two outs to push the DCC lead out to 4-0.

The Cardinals doubled that advantage in the second, and once again did damage with two outs.

Himes got that two-out rally going with a single that plated both Snowberger and Pisarcik, who reached on a fielder’s choice and single, respectively. Himes then came home when Miller reached on error before Zatsick capped DCC’s second straight four-run inning with a single that chased home courtesy runner Johnny Varischetti to make it 8-0.

Central was held scoreless in the third, but tacked on single runs in the fourth and fifth to put the 10-run mercy rule into play.

Zatsick doubled home Himes with two outs in the fourth, while Snowberger scored on a Fox two-out double in the sixth.

The Cardinals scored eight of their 10 runs after two outs in the game.

Five different Cardinals — Fox, Himes, Zatsick, Schwentner and Tristan Sedor — had two hits in the victory. Himes collected a tam-high three RBIs, while Zatsick knocked in a pair.

BRADFORD — Coming off an emotional win Saturday against DuBois Central Catholic in the City Classic, DuBois made the long trip north to Bradford and took care of business with an 8-1 victory against the Owls.

Bradford got one of those runs back in the bottom of the first and the game remained 2-1 into the fourth before DuBois broke things open.

A pair of walks to Dinkfelt and Clark jump-started that big fourth inning. Bryson Kail then singled home Dinkfelt before Wes Clyde plated a pair of runs with a single of his own.

Tyler Chamberlin scored a fourth run on a fielder’s choice that resulted in the first out of the inning, while Wingard capped the inning with a two-out single that chased home Chamberlin to make it 7-1.
