The North Carolina Softball Coaches Association has rewarded eight players in the Twin Counties for their outstanding 2026 seasons by including them on their all-state teams.
Those voted all-state this season include the Southern Nash trio of Sarah Ewers, Noel Dobbins and Aliyah Croll in the 5A classification; North East Carolina Prep’s trio of Katelyn Knox, Bailee Boyette and Hayden Boyette in the 1A classification; and SouthWest Edgecombe’s duo of Mackenzie Moore and Callie-Ann Webb in the 4A classification.
Coaches who are current members of the NCSCA can nominate and vote on players.
District 3 is made up of schools from Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Johnston, Nash, Northampton, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake, Warren and Wilson counties.
Sarah Ewers, Southern Nash

• Sarah Ewers: The senior right-hander went 17-2 on the mound in leading the Ladybirds (22-2 overall) to a fourth-round showing in the 5A state playoffs. In 20 appearances, 19 of them starts, Ewers pitched 12 complete games and had two no-hitters and one save. Over 88 innings, Ewers allowed just 42 hits and 21 runs (11 earned) for an 0.88 earned run average (ERA) with 147 strikeouts and 42 walks and gave just three extra-base hits all season (two doubles and a home run). Opponents batted just .136 against her. At the plate, Ewers batted .355 (22-for-62) with 25 runs scored, 26 runs batted in, 11 doubles, a triple and a home run. She finished with a 0.500 on base percentage, a 0.613 slugging percentage and a 1.113 OPS (on base plus slugging).
Noel Dobbins, Southern Nash

• Noel Dobbins: Though her season was cut short due to injury, Dobbins was a major factor in Southern Nash’s success this past spring. She batted .651 (28-for-43) with 32 runs scored, 29 runs batted in, eight doubles, a triple and six home runs. She walked eight times, struck out just once and had an on base percentage of 0.517, a slugging percentage of 0.604 and an OPS (on base plus slugging) of 2.035.
Aliyah Croll, Southern Nash

• Aliyah Croll: The Ladybirds’ junior batted .522 (36-for-69) with 42 runs scored, 34 RBI, 10 doubles, four triples and five home runs this season. She walked 10 times, struck out just six times and finished with a 0.583 on base percentage, a 1.000 slugging percentage and a 1.583 OPS (on base plus slugging). In the field, Croll had a 0.969 fielding percentage with 53 putouts, nine assists and two errors in 64 total chances.
Mackenzie Moore, SouthWest Edgecombe

• Mackenzie Moore: The UNC-Greensboro signee had a fabulous final season on the diamond for SouthWest Edgecombe as she helped the Cougars finish 13-8 overall and reach the 4A state playoffs. In 21 games, Moore batted .719 (46-for-64) with 49 runs scored, 34 runs batted in, 19 doubles, three triples and seven home runs. She struck out just twice and drew 17 walks. Behind the plate as the team’s catcher, Moore made no errors in 220 total chances for a 1.000 fielding percentage. For the season, Moore finished with a 0.774 on base percentage, a 1.438 slugging percentage and a 2.212 OPS (on base plus slugging).
• Callie-Ann Webb: The SouthWest Edgecombe freshman shined at the plate and on the mound in helping the Cougars win the Three Rivers 4A Conference championship this past spring. At the plate, Webb batted .534 (31-for-74) with 31 runs scored, 26 runs batted in, eight doubles, a triple and a home run. She drew 15 walks and finished with a 0.635 on base percentage, a 0.759 slugging percentage and a 1.394 OPS (on base plus slugging). On the mound, she made 18 appearances and finished with a 2.82 earned run average. Over 109.1 innings, Webb allowed 90 hits and 78 runs (only 44 earned) with 209 strikeouts and 57 walks.
Katelyn Knox, North East Carolina Prep

• Katelyn Knox: The senior catcher was one of the big reasons why North East Carolina Prep finished 15-8 overall, won the Eastern Carolina 1A Conference title for the first time (6-0) and reached the 1A state playoffs. In 21 games, she batted .707 (41-for-58) with 35 runs scored, 30 runs batted in, 12 doubles, two triples and five home runs and was a perfect 17-for-17 in stolen bases. Behind the plate, Knox finished with a 0.961 fielding percentage with 109 putouts, 13 assists and just five errors in 127 total chances. She also threw out 13 runners trying to steal. She was also 17-for-17 in stolen bases and had an on base percentage of 0.764, a slugging percentage of 1.241 and an OBP (on base plus slugging) of 2.005.
Bailee Boyette, North East Carolina Prep

• Bailee Boyette: The North East Carolina Prep sophomore batted .492 (30-for-61) with 37 runs scored, 25 runs batted in, seven doubles, three triples and four home runs this spring. She walked nine times and had an on base percentage of 0.592, a slugging percentage of 0.820 and an OPS (on base plus slugging) of 1.465. She was also 17-for-17 in stolen bases.
Hayden Boyette, North East Carolina Prep

• Hayden Boyette: The Huskies’ junior batted .431 (26-for-49) with 27 runs scored, 24 RBI, two doubles, two triples and six home runs this past spring. She walked 10 times, was hit by pitches seven times and completed the season with a 0.632 on base percentage, a 1.020 slugging percentage and a 1.652 OPS (on base plus slugging). She added nine stolen bases in 11 attempts.
