Right-hander Jhony Brito allowed two solo homers in his return to Triple-A El Paso’s rotation in a 6-5 loss at Las Vegas on Thursday.
Brito (1.66 ERA) struck out two and allowed three hits while throwing 30 of his 42 pitches for strikes.
Brito allowed two runs in 5⅓ innings while pitching in the Padres’ bullpen this month, his first big-league action since Tommy John surgery cost him the 2025 season.
Left-hander Miguel Cienfuegos (6.81 ERA) allowed a run in three innings and right-hander Ethan Routzahn (0-3, 4.86 ERA) allowed three runs in the seventh.
Center fielder Carlos Rodriguez (.773 OPS) drove in two runs on his fourth homer and walked twice.
Left fielder Nick Solak (.899 OPS) went 3-for-5 with an RBI, a steal and a run scored.
Second baseman Marcos Castañon (.782 OPS) went 2-for-5 with a double.
El Paso is 43-55.
