(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins scored six times in the first two innings and never looked back in an 11-8 win over the Athletics at Target Field yesterday. The win secured a series win for Minnesota, which improved to 53-54 on the year. The A’s lost for a second straight day and dipped to 44-61. Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers had three hits and three R-B-I, while Kody Clemens and Ryan Kreidler each had three hits. Connor Prielipp was the winning pitcher after tossing five-and-two-thirds innings of two-hit, one-run ball. The Twins are now three-and-a-half-games out of first place in the A-L Central and just a game back in the A-L Wild Card chase. Minnesota is off tonight and will welcome Kansas City to town to start a three-game series tomorrow night. The Royals are also off tonight.
