Josiah Ragsdale got the scoring started with a solo shot in the top of the second inning. David GarcÃa doubled Biloxi’s lead later in the inning, thanks to a ground-rule double. Cam Collier slashed the deficit in half in the bottom half, blasting his 14th home run of the year. Then in the following frame, Cade Hunter tied the game with a solo shot of his own.
The Lookouts went in front for the first time in the fourth, courtesy of Yerlin Confidan’s fourth home run. In the fifth inning, Reds top prospect Alfredo Duno singled down the right field line, driving in a pair of runs to make it 5-2.
After a Mike Boeve RBI single in the top of the sixth, VFL Blake Burke crushed his fourth home run of the series in the seventh inning to get the Shuckers back within a run. Carter Graham gave Chattanooga some insurance with a solo shot in the bottom half.
In the top of the ninth, after Burke, again, made it a one-run game with an RBI single, fellow VFL Andrew Fischer hit his MiLB-leading 32nd home run to give Biloxi a 7-6 lead. Alfredo Duno answered in the bottom of the ninth with a game-tying single.
However, in the 10th inning, things started to fall apart. Biloxi scores six in the frame, ultimately securing a 13-7 win.
The Shuckers take four out of six from the Lookouts. Chattanooga will now travel to Birmingham before returning home to face the Smokies Aug. 4-9.
