Because they’re in separate leagues, this is the first interleague series between the American League’s New York Yankees and the National League’s Philadelphia Phillies this season. But within their own leagues and divisions, both teams have already put on quite a show. They both boast solid pitching rotations, they both have great sluggers, and they’re both on a quest to dethrone the Los Angeles Dodgers and win the 2026 World Series. And this weekend, live from Philadelphia, we’ll see them square off in primetime on NBC and Peacock.

How to watch New York Yankees vs. Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday Night Baseball

The Yankees and Phillies broadcast begins at 7 p.m. ET this Sunday, July 26, live on NBC and streaming simultaneously on Peacock from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Pregame coverage kicks off the show, followed by the game itself at 7:20 p.m.

This weekend, NBC also welcomes a pair of new baseball legends to the broadcast team. On the pregame show, alongside Bob Costas, former National League MVP Joey Votto will join NBC Sports for the first time, and provide “Inside the Pitch” analysis during the game.

For the game broadcast itself, play-by-play caller Jason Benetti will welcome three-time MLB All-Star John Kruk and, for the first time on Sunday Night Baseball, former Yankees and Phillies manager and World Series Champion Joe Girardi.

What to expect from Yankees vs. Phillies: Kyle Schwarber vs. Ben Rice

Both the Yankees and the Phillies have reason to be hopeful about the postseason right now. They’re currently not at the top of their respective divisions, but they’re close, and both teams boast batting, pitching, and fielding talent that could take them far. On paper, though, the Phillies seem like the favorites heading into Sunday’s game.

Why? Well, at the plate, Kyle Schwarber remains the best slugger of 2026, though the Yankees’ Ben Rice is not far behind. At the mound, Philadelphia will star Christopher Sanchez, who boasts one of the best records and best strikeout counts of any pitcher in the MLB right now. It’s clear that the Phillies are putting their best foot forward on Sunday night to notch a primetime win. Now we just have to see how hard the Yankees push back, especially at the end of a three-game series which began Friday.
