It’s been an excellent month for Philly sports, and the Philadelphia 76ers are a big reason for that. LeBron James is a Sixer, and the starting five is now truly stacked.
The Eagles have been carrying Philadelphia in terms of recent sports successes. They won the Super Bowl in 2018 and then again in 2025.
However, the Phillies have been competitive in recent years too. Having made the World Series in 2022 and the playoffs every season since, another postseason appearance is on the cards. And Embiid is already excited for the MLB playoffs.

Embiid has been with the Sixers since he was drafted, and he’s embraced the city like very few athletes have. In turn, he is a fan favorite despite a lot of his health issues as well.
This love extends well beyond basketball, clips of him celebrating went viral in the aftermath of the Eagles’ triumph in Super Bowl LIX.

It seems that Joel is looking forward to the postseason, and the good feeling suggests that his positivity has a lot to do with the Phillies.
The team hasn’t exactly been in stellar form this July, so the timing of this is a bit strange. But it’s the thought that counts, and Philly fans will be hoping to see all their teams succeed this season.
