KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The last scheduled appearance for the Kansas City Royals on ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ is no longer on the books.
On Wednesday, NBC Sports announced that a pair of Sunday primetime games were getting scheduling changes.
Among the changes is that Kansas City’s Sept. 6 matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays will no longer be played on ‘Sunday Night Baseball.’
The Chicago White Sox — who lead the AL Central — and the Minnesota Twins’ game has been flexed into the primetime slot at 5 p.m. CT on Peacock and NBCSN.
Now, the Royals and Blue Jays game scheduled for Sunday night will be played at 1:10 p.m. CT and air exclusively on Royals.TV, as well as the Blue Jays’ local team broadcast.
The Royals have appeared on ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ twice this season, playing games against the Los Angeles Angels and Detroit Tigers earlier this year at Kauffman Stadium in primetime.
The schedule change announcement comes with the Royals in last place in the AL Central and the Blue Jays under-performing in the AL East following a World Series appearance last season.
