Middle infielder Myles Ross has flipped his commitment and is set to join Mizzou baseball, he announced Wednesday via X.
Ross, who comes from Kansas City, Kansas, decommitted from Texas Tech on Saturday and reopened his recruitment. The incoming freshman was the Sports in Kansas 5A Player of the Year after batting .446 with a 1.264 OPS. In his senior season, Ross ripped 15 doubles and legged out a pair of triples.
Ross is listed as a shortstop, second baseman and third baseman by Perfect Game, which ranked him the No.4 shortstop in the state of Kansas. His X account also has him listed as an outfielder. He was invited to and participated in the MLB Draft Combine in late June.
Mizzou’s starting shortstop last season, Kam Durnin, was drafted in the fourth round by the Houston Astros, who announced on Monday that Durnin had signed a professional contract.
The Tigers now will have another depth piece to develop at the position. Having graduated this past spring, the switch-hitting Ross will have five years of eligibility beginning next year.
