The Minnesota Twins plan to be buyers ahead of Major League Baseball’s trade deadline.
General manager Jeremy Zoll says the front office will pursue roster improvements, with bullpen help serving as its primary focus.
The Twins entered Wednesday with a 54-and-54 record. Minnesota was one-half game behind Cleveland for the final American League wild-card position, keeping the team firmly in the postseason race.
The club has already made several moves to strengthen its relief pitching this season, including acquiring Tommy Nance from Toronto earlier this month. Zoll says the Twins will continue exploring ways to improve the roster without breaking up its core.
