The Minnesota Twins were walked off for the second time in as many days on Sunday, in Seattle. This one came on the tail end of an insane comeback, from down 6-0 entering the 8th to tied 6-6 into the bottom of the 9th.
A half-inning later, Colt Emerson singled in the Mariners’ game-winning run, to make the final score 7-6. Now, the MN Twins have Monday off, along with the rest of the league, as everyone awaits the 5 p.m. MLB trade deadline.
But will Trevor Larnach still be in Minnesota when the Twins return to play, or will the 2018 No. 20 overall draft pick out of Oregon State dawn different MLB threads for the first time in his six-year MLB career, come Tuesday?

At one point over the weekend, just about every baseball fan with an internet connection thought Larnach was already gone though. But as he and new GM Jeremy Zoll found out the hard way, no trade can be made official unless the owner signs off.
And for reasons still unknown to the public, Houston owner Jim Crane vetoed a trade that reportedly would have sent Larnach to the Astros in exchange for reliever Bryan Abreu.
Trevor Larnach goes deep after failed trade to Houston
Before Sunday’s game in Seattle, Larnach handled questions stemming from Saturday’s failed trade with aplomb. “What are you going to do,” Larnach told Dan Hayes of The Athletic.
Well, I’m not sure how other professional athletes would answer that question, but Trevor did it by going 2-for-5 Sunday in Seattle, including a 2-run, 8th inning home run that helped power the Twins near-comeback.
“I don’t take it into the field at all. I don’t take it personal. But at the end of the day, there’s a lot of noise outside the field that I try to stay away from the media and just let whatever happens take its place.”

It was Larnach’s second-straight game with a late-inning home run that helped power a Twins comeback that the bullpen couldn’t help finish.
But will the former College World Series champion be in a Twins uniform when the Twins return to play on Tuesday in Kansas City against the struggling Royals?
Minnesota Twins still trying to trade Larnach?
Let’s just say… it’s a good thing Larnach is handling all of this unknown so well, both on and off the field.
Because according to Bobby Nightengale (Star Tribune), despite whatever spooked the Astros over the weekend, teams continue to call on his availability — now less than 24 hours short of the 2026 MLB trade deadline.
The Minnesota Twins, per Nightengale, continue their search for a late-inning righty reliever to help lighten the load recently placed on the shoulders of Andrew Morris.
The Twins front office is still hunting for a righthanded reliever who could join Andrew Morris and Gómez in the late innings… There are still teams calling about Larnach’s availability.

Trevor Larnach has been big in the last couple of games. Ironically, the Twins lack of reliable right-handed relievers killed them in both games. Before than, Larnach was in a bit of a slump, going 0-for-10 in his last 11 plate appearances.
Heading into deadline day, Larnach owns a .286 batting average and .832 OPS that’s built on 10 home runs and 30 extra base hits. In 92 games, the California native has driven in 41 runs and scored another 49 of his own.
And the way it’s trending, some team willing to offload a righty reliever is going to get a solid lefty bat in their corner outfield before 5 p.m. Monday.
