While the Diamondbacks are locked in a tight wild card race as August opens, the Cardinals and football season are here to add to the party.
The Cardinals open the preseason with a national audience this week as they take on the Carolina Panthers in the annual Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, on Thursday (5 p.m., NBC). It marks the first time the Cardinals have appeared in the Hall of Fame Game since a 2017 matchup with the Cowboys that also coincided with former Arizona quarterback Kurt Warner’s Hall induction.
Historically, the Cardinals played in the very first Hall of Fame Game ever held, on Aug. 11, 1962. The then-St. Louis Cardinals and New York Giants played to a 21-21 tie.
