WHITTEMORE – Charlton Heston Academy softball team unfortunately had Whittemore-Prescott’s number this season. The Lady Cardinals hosted the Lady Patriots on Tuesday, May 27 in both team’s Division 4 district opener, with CHA coming away with an 18-8 victory. This was the third time this season that W-P lost to the Patriots.

Abby Kitchen go the win for CHA, she went all six innings and gave up eight runs on seven hits, while striking out six and walking fie.

The Patriots had Marissa Patterson hit for the cycle, getting a three-run homer along with one triple, one double and one single. Makayla McDaniel also had three hits for them and Aurora Smith, Haley Perez and Ashlen Willett all had two hits each.

Stats for W-P were not provided.

During the Cardinals’ May 14 doubleheader at Mio, Gabby Clark had a big night, hitting a home run in each game. In the 13-1 game one loss she hit a solo home run and also doubled. In the 23-15 game two loss, she had one home run, one double, one single and six RBI.
