Milwaukee announced their Minor League Player & Pitcher of the Month this morning.

Third baseman Brock Wilken, Milwaukee’s No. 18 prospect, slashed .237/.368/.570 on the month. Wilken, 22, hit nine home runs in May — tied for the most in Double-A. The Brewers’ 2023 first round pick also led the Southern League in slugging percentage (.570), RBIs (20), and extra-base hits (13). He’s now slashing .201/.385/.462 in 51 games with Biloxi. For a breakdown of Wilken’s approach, check out my article on him from earlier in the month.
Right-hander Jacob Misiorowski, the Brewers’ No. 4 prospect, went 2-2 with a 2.83 ERA (9 ER) for Triple-A Nashville. The 6’7” RHP’s month could have been even more impressive if he hadn’t surrendered five of those nine runs in his last start. In five other starts in the month of May, Miz gave up four runs in 26 2⁄3 innings pitched — good for a 1.35 ERA.

Oh, and he also made history with a 103-mph strikeout pitch (his 78th of the game) during a May 15 start against the Memphis Redbirds. Tarik Skubal is the only other starting pitcher in the pitch tracking era to throw a 103-mph pitch after the fifth inning.

Misiorowski’s stats on the year: 12 G, 11 GS, 3-2 W-L, 58 1⁄3 IP, 2.31 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 4.32 BB/9, 11.26 K/9.
