Newark National’s fantastic summer came up just two wins short of a world title, as they fell 12-0 to Hawai’i in the 2026 Senior League Baseball World Series United States Championship Game.

It looked like Newark had a chance to strike first, when Scott Fillingame smashed a drive to left field, but Hawaii’s Ryley Omine crashed into the wall, seemingly injuring himself, but keeping Delaware off the board.

They’d get all the offense they’d need in the second inning, as they turned a double and three walks into two runs.

Hawai’i would tack on single runs in the third and fourth innings, and then two more in the 6th inning.

Zackary Faircloth picked up Delaware’s first hit on an infield single in the third, but the best potential rally came in the 4th inning.

Filingame and Austin Ledoschuk connected on back-to-back singles, but back-to-back strikeouts got Hawai’i out of trouble.

They would put six more runs on the board in the 7th inning to end the scoring.

Despite it being just Newark’s first loss of the tournament, the championship game was not played using double-elimination rules, ending their trip.

It was Delaware’s second appearance in the U.S. Championship Game since Naamans won the American title in 2018 before losing in the World Championship Game.

Delaware’s only other appearance in the 15-to-16-year-old title game was when Georgetown Little League won the 1981 World Series.
