An overpowering first inning proved insurmountable for Laramie Little League.
Paseo Verde Little League, from Henderson, Nevada, stopped Laramie, 12-0 (four innings) in the opening round of the Little League Mountain Region Tournament on Saturday in San Bernardino, California.
Laramie will play Coal Creek Little League from Lafayette, Colorado, in a 7 p.m. Sunday elimination game.
Paseo Verde cruised toward a 7-0 first-inning lead, including the first five runs scored via three walks and an error.
That lead extended 8-0 after two innings, then 10-0 after three. Paseo Verde plated two runs in the third inning.
It retired the side in order to earn the run-rule victory.
Ryder Vasquez recorded Laramie’s only hit.
