The Los Angeles Dodgers’ lead in the National League West over the San Diego Padres has been cut to one game.
The Padres won 1-0 in 10 innings at San Francisco Monday night. Meanwhile, the New York Mets beat the Dodgers 4-3 in 10 at Los Angeles.
Jose Iglesias drove in Jake Cronenworth for the Padres with a sacrifice fly in the 10th for the only run of the game. Robert Suarez (1-1) shut out the Giants in the bottom 10th to finish two innings of scoreless relief pitching and get the win.
Shohei Ohtani tied the game for the Dodgers at 2-2 in regulation with his 23rd home run of the year in the seventh inning then a sacrifice fly in the ninth. The Mets answered with a Francisco Alvarez RBI double and a Francisco Linares RBI single off Dodgers reliever Tanner Scott in the top of the 10th.
Andy Pages drove in a run for the Dodgers in the bottom of the 10th, but Jose Butto, the last of the seven pitchers the Mets used, then closed the Dodgers out.
The Los Angeles Angels won 7-6 at Boston for just their third win in their last 10 games.
