KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino will attempt to make another return to play this week in Triple-A.
The Royals announced Monday night that Pasquantino is expected to begin a rehab assignment with the Omaha Storm Chasers on Tuesday.
Omaha is scheduled to begin a series against the Columbus Clippers — the Cleveland Guardians affiliate — on Tuesday night in central Ohio.
Pasquantino is attempting to return from a right wrist injury that resulted in him being placed on the injured list on July 29.
It was the second time that the 28-year-old has gone on the IL this year. In June he had surgery to fix a broken bone in his right hand which the team called a right hamate fracture.
This season, Pasquantino is hitting .232 with 6 home runs and 33 RBI for the Royals.
