MIAMI, Florida (KWTX) – Robinson native and Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star Braxton Ashcraft made MLB history on Thursday (8/13) with his stellar performance against the Miami Marlins.
According to the Pirates, Ashcraft is the first pitcher in MLB history to throw 9 innings with 10+ strikeouts on 85 or fewer pitches.
According to Aiden Stepansky with MLB.com Ashcraft’s performance was the first complete game of the season for the Pirates and the first of Ashcraft’s career.
The Pirates beat the Marlins 13-1. Ashcraft moved to 12-5 on the season.
