The Angels aim to pick up a series win tonight against their division rivals after a 3-1 win last night in Houston. Klassen tossed 7 shutout innings and continues to show why he’s a crucial piece of the Halos’ future. Tonight, another Angels rookie, Walbert Ureña, takes the mound to face Astros prospect Ethan Pecko in his MLB debut.
How to Watch Angels vs. Astros:
The Angels and Astros will play tonight at 5:10 p.m. PT at Daikin Park in Houston. The game will air locally on Angels Baseball TV, presented by Pechanga Resort Casino, with Space City Home Network carrying Houston’s broadcast and MLB. TVTV available for out-of-market viewers.

Run Line:Angels +1.5 (-157)Astros -1.5 (+130)Moneyline:Angels: (+143)Astros: (-154)Total:8.5: Over (-115)/Under (-105)Can the Angels Capitalize on Ethan Pecko’s MLB Debut?
Pecko will make his MLB debut tonight after posting a 4-6 record with a 4.57 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 86 Ks over 82.2 minor-league innings. The right-hander is the Astros’ No 9 prospect and has displayed plus velocity topping out at 98 mph. Pecko can generate ground balls, but his relatively high ERA in the minor leagues this year will likely give the Angels plenty of opportunities to put runs on the board.
Since this is Pecko’s first MLB appearance, no Angels have any matchup data against him. The biggest bat to watch for the Angels tonight is Mike Trout, who is hitting .278 with 3 homers and 11 runs in 10 games against Houston this year. Lowe and Neto both homered in Daikin Park back in March, and both added an extra-base hit last night. The post-deadline lineup for the Angels is much younger, and recent additions/call-ups of Meckler, Guzman, and Ballesteros add speed and contact around the core of Trout, Neto, Lowe, and Nolan Schanuel.

— MLB (@MLB) August 11, 2026Can Walbert Ureña Continue His Dominance Against Houston?
Walbert Ureña has been the Angels’ most consistent starter this season and enters tonight with an 8-8 record with a 2.67 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 102 Ks over 107.2 innings. In his last start, Ureña tossed 6 shutout innings against Texas and surrendered only 2 hits while striking out 5. Even more encouragingly, Ureña holds a 0.71 ERA with 14 Ks over 12.2 innings against Houston this year.

The Astros still have many dangerous bats in their lineup, most notably Yordan Alvarez. Alvarez leads the club with a .318 average, 36 homers, and 88 RBIs and is chasing the AL triple crown. However, the Astros lineup has been cold recently, scoring 2 runs or less in 7 of their last 13 games. Ureña’s previous dominance against this lineup gives him a strong chance to keep that slump going.
Prediction, Props, and Picks:
My favorite bet tonight is Angels moneyline at +143. The Halos have the clear pitching edge as Ureña has dominated the Astros this year, and Pecko is making his MLB debut. Another line I like is under the total runs line of 8.5 at -105. Both of these offenses have been somewhat cold recently, and we can trust at least Ureña to limit the Astros’ offense.
Bets I like:Angels Moneyline (+143)Total Runs Under 8.5 (-105)
