Washington Nationals outfielder Jacob Young might have just clinched the catch of the year nod in Major League Baseball.
Young scaled the left field fence at LoanDepot Park in Miami on Sunday to steal an extra-base hit from Miami Marlins outfielder Heriberto Hernandez to end the third inning. Young used the protective fencing over an electronic advertising board to leverage himself, climb the wall, and make an unlikely catch.

Young even had the presence of mind to get the ball back to the infield to double off Otto Lopez, who had clearly expected the ball to go off or over the wall and made no effort to stay near first base.
It is not entirely clear if the ball would have been a home run or not. At minimum, it would have hit the top of the wall for extra bases and scored a run.
Young has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting defensive outfielders in the game. This is not even the first time he has made a wall-scaling catch, but the one he made Sunday is arguably his most impressive yet.
