(Sacramento, CA) — The Minnesota Twins stopped a three-game losing streak with a 9-6 win over the Athletics in Sacramento last night. Twins second baseman Ryan Kreidler belted a home run in the fifth inning, while shortstop Kaelen Culpepper collected four hits. Byron Buxton was 3-for-4 and scored four times. Starting pitcher Zebby Matthews worked seven innings of six-hit, one-run ball to notch his eighth win of the season. He struck out seven and walked only one. The Twins improved to 64-68, while the A’s dropped to 51-81. Third-place Minnesota trails Chicago by four-and-a-half games in the American League Central Division and sits two games out of the Wild Carl position.
