Giants release former Blue Jays infielder Jake Lamb
The Giants announced this morning that they have decided to released former Blue Jays Jake Lamb from his minor league contract as they promoted prospect Bryce Eldridge to Triple-A.
The San Francisco Giants have released INF Jake Lamb from his minor league deal and promoted top prospect 1B Bryce Eldridge to AAA in a corresponding move.
Giants Release Jake Lamb, Move Bryce Eldridge To Triple-A
Lamb spent 39 games with the Blue Jays back in 2021 where he finished with a .129 batting average, .256 on base percentage along with 1 homerun in 6 RBIs before being released at the end of the season.
The former Blue Jays player’s last season in the MLB came in 2023 with the Los Angeles Angels and he has spent the last two seasons in the minors but is now a free agent after 45 games.
So far this season, Lamb has a .240 batting average, .352 on base percentage with 2 homeruns and 20 RBIs but despite those numbers not being too bad, the Giants decide to release him.
Since his number with the Giants were not too bad, Lamb should be able to land on his feet and find himself a new minor league deal but his days in the majors are most likely done.
