Hello again, loyal reactors. I know you’re out there! There are dozens of us!
As you may have guessed, I’m back for another week of Mariners reacts. Our last Mariners reacts came a few weeks ago when the Mariners were coming off of their Vedder Cup series against the Padres, a rivalry that has never made much sense to me and holds no meaning whatsoever. It seems I’m not alone in this thought. 98% of you either didn’t know this was a thing or didn’t care.

This is not the least bit surprising, and here’s hoping something like this little article can show MLB they can just pivot away from this made-up rivalry. I get it; Rivalry Week is fun for states or cities with two teams or more. For the rest of us, it’s a waste of time.
That being said, now that I’m thinking about it, many teams share states or cities, so maybe the Mariners are the outlier in this scenario. I guess the solution is to start a rabid campaign for a baseball team in Spokane. I, for one, will be happy to welcome the Spokane Frontiersmen to the league.
That brings us to the question for this week. This season, our beloved dumper has been on an absolute tear through the league, dumping hot piping bombs in every stadium across the league. While we are only two months into the season, we are not far at all from the midway point of the season, and therefore, it’s the perfect time to start asking way-too-early awards questions. In that spirit, I want to know where you think Cal is in the MVP race right now? Is he out in front, or is there still work for him to do to overcome the likes of Judge and Witt Jr.? Let us know what you think through the survey and comments below!
