After losing in extra innings of Game 1 of a doubleheader to decide the District 2A-12 champion, Pocola (11-3, 6-0 District 2A-12) gained control in the top of the fourth inning by scoring the go-ahead run on an error after drawing back-to-back bases-loaded walks. In the top of the seventh, Brynleigh Riggs sealed it by hitting a three-run home run. Having lost the first game by two, Pocola needed to win by at least three to gain the head-to-head tiebreaker outright. Pocola ensured itself a first-round regional playoff at home during the week of Sept. 24.
