The Colorado Rockies won their tenth game on Monday, their first series of 2025 yesterday, and swept their first road series since last May this morning.
But more importantly, Warren Schaeffer has officially managed the Rox for just over three weeks after replacing Bud Black on May 11th. The Rockies are 5-17 under his tenure and 12-50 overall. But they seem to be playing more competitive baseball and “playing free.” Six of their previous seven losses were by two or fewer runs, and the bullpen has thrown 13 scoreless innings. They haven’t allowed more than one run in a game since May 27th against the Chicago Cubs. (The starting rotation is a different story.)
Overall, they seem to be playing better baseball, but we’d like to know if you agree. After three weeks at the helm, how would you grade Warren Schaeffer’s performance as interim manager?
