KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Royals’ 2027 season will open on the earliest Opening Day in franchise history – and it starts with a jam-packed Cactus League spring.
The Kansas City Royals and Major League Baseball announced the team’s 2027 Spring Training schedule on Friday, Sept. 4.

The Royals say they will open their 25th Cactus League season on Feb. 19 against the Rangers at Surprise Stadium.
Kansas City’s spring slate includes 15 home games, plus 2 road games against the Rangers on March 8 and March 18.
The team adds that it will play 30 games in 30 days this spring, including two split-squad days:
Feb. 24: vs. Cubs (home)/at PadresMarch 17: vs. Mariners (home)/at Guardians

The Royals note that players will get two off days during Cactus League play – March 2 and March 15.
Kansas City will face every other Cactus League team at least twice, with one home and one road game each – except the Rangers and Giants, whom they will each play three times.
The Royals say they will close out Cactus League play on March 20 at the Athletics. After four days off, they will host the Twins at Kauffman Stadium on March 25.
