West Virginia baseball has added another piece to its future roster with a commitment from 2028 outfielder Joseph Mosley.
Mosley, who plays at Hendersonville High School in Tennessee, announced his commitment to the Mountaineers on Sunday.
“The Lord has blessed me with the ability and opportunity to make my dream come true of playing baseball at the next level,” Mosley wrote. “That being said, I am beyond blessed to announce that I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at West Virginia University.”
The 6-foot, 190-pound Mosley is coming off a big sophomore season at Hendersonville. He hit .479 with eight home runs and 25 RBIs while collecting 69 hits and scoring 49 runs. Mosley finished the year with a .559 on-base percentage, .847 slugging percentage and 1.406 OPS.
Those numbers earned him both the 2026 Sumner County Position Player of the Year and District 7-4A Most Valuable Player honors.
Mosley also contributed on the mound, recording a 3.12 ERA with 53 strikeouts over 40 1/3 innings.
Perfect Game has Mosley rated a 9 on its prospect grading scale, a rating that the scouting service defines as a potential top-10-round MLB Draft pick and/or highest-level college prospect. He is listed as the No. 202 overall prospect nationally and No. 6 player in Tennessee for the 2028 class.
The athletic testing provides another look at his skill set. Mosley has recorded a 6.81-second 60-yard dash along with a 93 mph outfield velocity. His Perfect Game profile also lists an 88 mph fastball velocity.
Prep Baseball lists Mosley at No. 22 overall in Tennessee’s 2028 class and as the state’s No. 6 outfielder. His profile includes a 6.83-second 60-yard dash, 91–93 mph outfield velocity and a 100.6 mph max exit velocity.
Mosley thanked his family, coaches and teammates in his commitment announcement before closing with his excitement about joining West Virginia.
“Furthermore, I would like to thank the entire staff at West Virginia for this amazing opportunity,” Mosley wrote. “Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this amazing journey.”
