Mizzou baseball released its Southeastern Conference schedule Tuesday ahead of the 2027 campaign.
After doubling its 2025 SEC win total by going 6-24 last season, Mizzou faces yet another tough slate in conference play.
Last season, Missouri won the series against Kentucky on the road, which marked one of just two SEC series wins for the Tigers in 2026. This year, the Tigers will host the Wildcats for a three-game series from March 26-28.
One of the headlining visitors will be LSU, boasting the No. 2 incoming recruiting class, according to Perfect Game. The Tigers-on-Tigers matchup will occur May 7-9 in Columbia.
Mizzou fans will potentially see premier talent in left-handed pitcher Logan Schmidt. The Cleveland Guardians selected Schmidt 59th overall in the 2026 MLB Draft but could not sign the 18-year-old. He will fulfill his commitment to play at LSU this upcoming season.
Taylor Stadium will host five series in total between late March and late May. Mizzou will also be home for matchups with Alabama (April 9-11), Oklahoma (April 23-25) and Florida (May 20-22).
On the road, Mizzou will have an uphill battle. Its five road SEC opponents were a combined 120-58 at home in 2026. The 67% winning percentage would equate to roughly 109 wins over a 162-game season.
Mizzou will have one of its toughest tests to open SEC play from March 18-21 at Mississippi State. The top three starting pitchers for the Bulldogs are set to return alongside 2026 Perfect Game National Freshman of the Year Jacob Parker. Parker hit .339 last season and slugged 18 homers.
Mizzou will round out its road SEC slate against Auburn (April 2-4), Arkansas (April 16-18), Ole Miss (April 30-May 2) and South Carolina (May 14-16).
Following the conclusion of the regular season, the SEC Tournament is scheduled for May 25-30 in Hoover, Alabama.
Mizzou will need to overhaul its roster after two players, Josh McDevitt and Kam Durnin, were drafted. The Tigers also lost key players such as Kaden Peer and Blaize Ward to the transfer portal.
Missouri will need to replace elite-level center field defense in Peer’s absence while filling the offensive role left behind by Ward, who hit .296 as a freshman.
This is paired with losses of key contributors such as catcher Mateo Serna, first baseman Jace Woita, outfielder Pierre Seals and third baseman Chris Patterson, all of whom started at least 20 games for coach Kerrick Jackson’s 2026 team.
Despite having many holes to fill, the Tigers look to build momentum following improvements against SEC competition in 2026. Mizzou will begin SEC play when it takes on Mississippi State on March 18, 2027, in Starkville, Mississippi.
