CUMBERLAND — Allegany baseball standout Kohen Madden committed to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, he announced via a social media post this week.
The senior right-hander finished with a 5-2 record, 55 strikeouts and a 1.88 ERA in 48 1/3 innings last spring. At the plate, the shortstop batted .518 with two home runs, a triple, six doubles, 22 RBIs and 18 runs. Those numbers were good enough to receive first-team All-State honors as a two-way player.
