The Milwaukee Brewers star pitcher is teaming up with an organization to help students across southeast Wisconsin.

Jacob Misiorowski was the featured guest speaker Thursday at SHARP Literacy’s fundraiser at American Family Field.

“The Miz” shared his experience growing up with dyslexia and overcoming its challenges as a major league pitcher.

“I would leave the classroom to get help from teachers and go into other classrooms scared I’d get made fun of by those kids. I think it’s huge to be a part of that and understand I can help those kids feel okay with it day in and day out,” Misiorowski said.

Funds raised at the event will support thousands of students in over 40 schools in Milwaukee, Racine and Waukesha.
