Kent Emanuel struck out eight batters in Louisville’s 3rd straight win, Yerlin Confidan homered and drove in three for Chattanooga, Kyle Henley tripled and drove in two as Dayton won their playoff game, and Daytona’s season came to an end in the first round of the Florida State League playoffs.

Noelvi Marte exited the game after the 6th inning. It was unclear why that happened as he doubled in his previous at-bat in the 5th and showed no signs of an issue on the play, and he was not involved in any plays in the field in the 6th inning.
Jay Allen II has a 4-game hitting streak. In his last two games he’s gone 2-4 in each. In the 18 games before this hit streak (his entire time in Triple-A) he had just nine hits.
Edwin Arroyo had been in a slump before he was called up by the Reds in late August. He was 1-15 in the five games before he was called up. He then went 1-17 with Cincinnati during his call up. This was his first game back with the Bats and he was able to pick up two hits in his return.
Kevin Abel lowered his ERA to 1.72 through seven games and 15.2 innings with the Bats since he was promoted in mid-August to Louisville.
After losing 11 of 13, Louisville has now won three games in a row.

After missing May, June, July, and August, Michael Trautwein returned to Chattanooga earlier this month. He’s walked in all four of the games he’s played in for the Lookouts. Going back to his time in April he’s gone 4-20 in the last eight games he’s played, but also walked 10 times in those same eight games.
The home runs from Trautwein and Yerlin Confidan both hit the batters eye in center.

Game Notes
The win by Dayton evened up the series at 1-1. The series finale will be played on Friday night. Whoever wins the game will advance to the Midwest League Championship game to take on Quad Cities, who swept South Bend in their series.
Dayton took a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning after Justin Lebron reached on a strikeout on a wild pitch, stole second base, took third on a single, and then scored on a groundout. Three innings later came the big blow of the game. Ryan McCrystal and Johnny Ascanio both singled to start the inning. It was Kyle Henley who then came through with a big hit, tripling into the right field corner with two outs to make it a 3-0 game.
The pitching for Dayton was strong all night with the lone exception of the 7th inning when Great Lakes was able to put together a 2-out rally of sorts with a double and an RBI single to score their lone run of the game. Victor Diaz, who gave up that RBI single (but not the double before it) struck out three of the last five batters he faced before Trent Hodgdon came on for the 9th to get a groundout and then two strikeouts to end the game.
Dayton won a home playoff game for the first time since 2011.
The Daytona Tortugas lost 13-2. Box Score

The loss ends the season for Daytona as they were swept by Jupiter.
The Tortugas took a 1-0 lead on the home run by Arnaldo Lantigua in the top of the 1st inning. Jupiter would take the lead for good in the 3rd with a 2-run inning. They added three more runs in the 4th. After Daytona got a run in the 5th, the Hammerheads scored two in the 6th and then six more in the 7th.
Lantigua had a nice showing in the two games as he went 4-7 with two doubles and a home run.
