Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker has started to click for another promising run of games, this time due to a mechanical shift.
He finished Friday’s game against the Miami Marlins going 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, along with a triple and a grand slam.
Over his last two games, he is 6-for-8 with just one strikeout, two home runs, a triple, and a double.
Tucker has been a disappointment by all accounts this season, hitting just .225/.323/.361 with a 93 wRC+ and a 0.2 fWAR, per FanGraphs.

It is by far the worst season of his career since his rookie year, when he only played 28 games.
For a player who was supposed to help an aging roster and inked a $240 million deal, his down year could not have come at a worse time.
Yet, his regular season is what it is, though he can still get going and contribute in the postseason, which is exactly what Tucker is focused on.
“Doc keeps putting me out there. [I’m] just trying to come out and do what I can every single game to try and help our team win,” Tucker said after Friday’s game.
“Whether it’s on defense, baserunning, in the box. This team works really hard behind the scenes. … So, I just try and do my part in that. I’m just trying to get the wins for them.”

For fans who have followed all season closely, Tucker has gone five to six games where he starts to produce as expected.
Then he dips again, and the cycle of false starts continues.
Manager Dave Roberts credits the latest hot spell to mechanical changes, specifically citing keeping his bat in the zone longer to make some more reliable contact.
Tucker has been working with the coaches, and it is paying off.
“Right now he’s in a great spot mechanically,” Roberts explained. “Now with the confidence that he has with his swing … it has happened quickly.
“I know that the hitting coach has kind of unlocked something with Kyle, and it’s just good to see it translate that quickly. Because most of the time, things like that take a while — you know, 15, 20, at-bats — but it kind of happened overnight with the results. So, really happy to see that.”
