The White Sox recalled RHP David Sandlin from Triple-A Charlotte and optioned LHP Tyler Schweitzer before Sunday’s series finale in St. Louis.

The club recalled right-hander David Sandlin from Triple-A Charlotte and optioned left-hander Tyler Schweitzer to Charlotte before the series finale against the Cardinals. The team announced the moves on X.
Sandlin, 25, has bounced between Charlotte and Chicago all season. He is 2-1 with a 6.93 ERA in five big-league appearances (three starts), covering 24.2 innings with 24 strikeouts and 12 walks. His last major-league outing was Aug. 7 against Cleveland, when he allowed six earned runs in 5 1/3 innings. He debuted May 27 and has shown both a short stretch of dominance and the homer problems that come with a 2.2 HR/9 rate.
Schweitzer has been the shuttle lefty. The 25-year-old is 1-0 with a 3.13 ERA in his big-league work this year after a paternity stint in late August. He has already been optioned multiple times in 2026. This is another September roster tweak, not a verdict on the season.

Sandlin is now lined up to make the start in the series finale. The Sox are 76-72 and still first in the AL Central after taking one of the first two in this series.
