The Yankees have done a great job thus far in 2025 at avoiding complete duds — the kinds of games where everything feels lifeless and very little goes right. An abundance of those in 2023 combined with Aaron Judge’s extended absence to cost them a playoff spot. Well, you’re never going to outright avoid them and the Yankees have now had two duds in their last four games. At least they only gave up four runs in this one. They rebounded nicely after the last dud, so let’s hope that they can do what they did on Sunday tonight with Max Fried on the bump.

Today on the site, we’re taking it a little easy. The normal features will be there, as I’ll have the minors recap, Peter will do the Rivalry Roundup, and Jake will have the latest edition of the 2000 Diary. Nick Sarnelli will also have a light article on the Yankees’ amusing literary tastes, as featured in a social media video yesterday.
