There has been plenty of change in the Minnesota Twins front office over the past 12 months, and after another underwhelming season (75-84 heading into the final weekend), more can be expected this offseason.
Former president of baseball operations Derek Falvey officially landed with the Mets on Thursday as a senior adviser for baseball operations. Meanwhile, the man left holding the keys at Target Field when Falvey left was general manager Jeremy Zoll.
Zoll was general manager under Flavey, and continued in that position when Falvey left, though his job was much different working under new controlling owner Tom Pohlad, who had zero previous experience in the family’s baseball business prior to taking over as team President.
Asst. GM Daniel Adler and MN Twins agree to part ways
We’ll see what happens this offseason within the Minnesota Twins front office. But assistant general manager Daniel Adler — who was hired in 2017 as director of baseball operations — wasn’t willing to wait that long.
According to Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com, Adler and the Twins have “mutually agreed to part ways”.

Adler, who was hired by Derek Falvey in 2017 as director of baseball operations and promoted to assistant GM in 2019, is expected to pursue other opportunities.

Adler’s departure leaves Alex Hassan, Sean Johnson, and Josh Kalk as the three remaining assistant general managers under Zoll. It’s a front office built largely to Falvey’s vision. That was before he too “mutually parted ways” with the Twins back in January.
Could Daniel Adler follow Derek Falvey to the Mets?
It seems logical to wonder whether Adler could follow Falvey to the Mets. David Stearns remains the Mets’ president of baseball operations (for now), but Falvey is coming in as a senior adviser and a new voice for owner, Steve Cohen. It would make sense for Falvey to tap on a few trusted allies to join him in the Big Apple.
A move from the Twins to the Mets would be quite the change in scenery for Adler. Like Falvey, he’d be working for an owner willing to spend whatever it takes to acquire talent. That hasn’t been the blueprint in Minnesota… pretty much ever.

Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see where Adler lands. Still, it’s notable that he’s dipping out before the final games of the season (the Twins close things out against the Rangers at Target Field this weekend) rather than waiting for the offseason.
And the same day Falvey is officially announced as a member of the Mets organization…? That would seem to suggest he has a pretty good idea of what’s next.
