The mighty nor’easter that’s expected to rock the East Coast all the weekend threw a curveball to the Yankees, whose game on Saturday night was preemptively rescheduled for Friday as part of a single-admission doubleheader.

Although the Yankees’ final series of the regular season is inconsequential to the standings — they are locked into the American League’s No. 4 seed — the development affected fans who had planned to attend Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles for CC Sabathia’s number retirement ceremony.

The ceremony was rescheduled for Friday before the Yankees and Orioles began their first game of the day at 4:05 p.m. EDT.

Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, Dellin Betances and Chris Young were among the alumni attending the No. 52 retirement and Monument Park plaque unveiling at Yankee Stadium, where Sabathia called home for 11 of his 19 MLB seasons.

Sabathia — a culture-setting leader and ace who helped the Yankees win the 2009 World Series — entered the National Baseball Hall of Fame as a first-ballot inductee last year with a Yankees hat on his plaque.

Only tickets dated for Sept. 25 were eligible for Friday’s doubleheader. Tickets dated for Sept. 26 can be exchanged for a “similar regular season game at Yankee Stadium,” the Yankees announced.

As originally planned, the first 18,000 ticketed guests to arrive at the stadium Friday would receive a bobblehead depicting Knicks star Josh Hart in a Yankees jersey. Hart is the great-nephew of former Yankees catcher Elston Howard, whose No. 32 is retired by the team.

Officials warned of heavy rainfall, sustained winds of 25-35 mph and the potential of coastal flooding in New York, with the worst of it expected to occur from Saturday evening into Sunday afternoon.

The Yankees’ regular season finale remains scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

“I don’t worry about things out of my hands,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after Thursday night’s 6-4 win against the Tampa Bay Rays. “Saturday’s out of the question. We’ll see what Sunday brings.”

Neither the Yankees nor Orioles have anything left to play for in terms of game results, though canceling Sunday’s game — and thus giving the Yankees a weekend of rest — could provide an inequitable advantage going into the playoffs.

The Yankees are set to begin their Wild Card series in the Bronx on Tuesday night, when the weather looks much clearer.
