Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero Jr makes some strange comments regarding Jordan Romano
After the win yesterday, Guerrero spoke to Hazel Mae about facing Romano stating that he is slow at the plate adding that despite being friends and seeing him as a brother, he is now his enemy.Asked Vladimir Guerrero Jr what it was like facing Phillies’ closer, Jordan Romano:
“It’s weird, but he’s not my teammate anymore.. He’s still my friend, my brother, and I still love him but we’re on different teams now, so you have to turn that page.. he’s my enemy right now.”
Guerrero recalled Romano was “slow to the plate,” and with catcher JT Realmuto out of the ballgame, he thought to himself “I’ve got to take a shot.”
Guerrero steals 2B, and scores winning run on Alejandro Kirk’s game winning hit.
While stating he is his enemy now is not the strange part since it makes sense since they are currently playing each other but it is more that he stated that he is slow at the plate that came as a bit of a shock.
The Blue Jays now have a chance this afternoon to beat Romano in his return to Toronto and continue to build momentum before the trade deadline hits at the end of next month.
If the Blue Jays can win this series against the Phillies, it will be a huge boost of momentum for them.

Should the Blue Jays have kept Jordan Romano instead of signing Jeff Hoffman?
