Opening night of the 2026 MLB Playoffs ended with one of baseball’s hottest teams, the San Diego Padres, putting on a dominant performance against the Chicago Cubs to take a 1-0 Wild Card Series lead.

Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, and Xander Bogaerts all homered in the team’s 8-0 win, and the momentum continues with confidence at an all-time high.

Since taking over as primary owner of the team, Padres owner Kwanza Jones has been keeping the vibes immaculate, and that continued on Tuesday night ahead of the team’s first game of the postseason.

While hyping up the upcoming series and start of the postseason, she brought her trademark high energy and welcomed any fan onto the Padres bandwagon for the upcoming playoff run.

“La Madre says: if you need a playoff team to root for, Padres is for you,” Jones wrote on Instagram. “We’re welcoming. We’re passionate. We’re inclusive. We’re ALL IN.

“You can go back to your usual team later. For now, don’t be left out. You’ve got a playoff team. It’s us. And if you’re already with us… sharing is caring. Tell a friend. San Diego to Baja and beyond. Come on over. We all in.”

The Padres caught fire near the end of the regular season and were leading the league in scoring down the final stretch of the season. In the final seven regular season games, San Diego recorded a whopping 50 runs.

Kicking off the postseason with an 8-0 win keeps that momentum rolling, and shows that no matter how long the Padres are in the playoffs, it’s going to be a good time.
