Kyle Tucker is a four-time All-Star and one of the best outfielders in baseball when healthy.
His production during the 2026 regular season was not on par with what he accomplished earlier in his career.
This year was Tucker’s first with the Los Angeles Dodgers. They likely imagined him as another superstar in a lineup that includes Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman.
Unfortunately for the Dodgers, Tucker’s offensive game took a significant step back.
“Well, the Dodgers could still three-peat, but it hasn’t been a very impressive first season in Los Angeles for Tucker,” Bleacher Report’s Tim Kelly wrote.
Tucker played in 154 games and hit just 17 home runs, looking completely lost in right field at times.
“After signing a four-year, $240 million contract that includes a player opt-out after the second season, Tucker has produced just a 98 OPS+ in 2026,” Kelly added. “Mind you, 100 is considered a league-average player, and Tucker averaged a 142 OPS+ from 2020-2025.”
How can Tucker win back the trust of Dodgers fans?

A strong postseason would be an excellent starting point.
“Tucker is finishing the season on a high note, as he has a .921 OPS in September. If he has a big October, no one will remember how much he struggled during the regular season,” Kelly wrote. “But this has definitely been an underwhelming campaign for the four-time All-Star.”
The Dodgers are a threat to win a third consecutive championship. If Tucker can carry his success from September to October, Los Angeles will be very hard to dethrone.
