Opening Day has arrived with upgrades to the ballpark, food and Rockies fan experience at Coors Field.
The 2025 season marks 30 years of Major League Baseball at 20th and Blake Street in lower downtown Denver. Kevin Kahn, the Rockies vice president of ballpark operations and chief customer officer, envisions an even longer run into the future.
“Our goal is to keep Coors Field looking and operating as new every year,” Kahn said at a Thursday media walk through at Coors Field to overview changes before opening day at 2:10 p.m. Friday against the Athletics. “We really hope that Coors Field over time will be the icon for the Rocky Mountain region that Wrigley Field is for Chicago and Fenway (Park) is in Boston. Both (are) 100-year-old-plus ballparks.”
Some ballpark updates will be very noticeable. Others will be more behind the scenes.
“You think of a house that’s 30 years old. We talk about what we’ve been doing in the offseason this year, it’s a lot of infrastructure work to keep the ballpark up and running, and operating as new,” Kahn said. “Things that fans don’t necessarily see but will care about if they’re not working, for example, we replaced some sewer lines. … We got a new HVAC control system (and) a lighting control system. We’ve replaced some concrete up on the upper deck on the concourse. About four sections worth of concrete. “Painting, plumbing, electrical and all those behind-the-scenes things.”
The fan experience (including food options) will also see changes in the 2025 season. Below is a breakdown of what to expect at Coors Field in 2025.

The Rox Grill (Section 125) will be the third concession stand to feature Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology and the first to serve hot food items. It allows customers to more quickly checkout by scanning their card, palm or Amazon One device at the entry gate. Items are detected and charged upon exit.
There are also 12 “Walk Thru Bru” stations across the ballpark that allow fans to buy one of six different drinks in a more efficient checkout line.

New food
—Triple Play Siders (Section 115) will feature three specialty sliders — Italian, birria and chorizo — in every order. Each is served on a toasted bun with a wide variety of toppings.
—Polidori Sausage (Sections 107, 321) expanded from its outfield locations with two additional concession stands. All three locations feature specialty brats: chorizo, hatch green chile and jalapeno cheddar.
—The Sand Lot Brewery (right field corner) added smoked wings and a 30th anniversary lager to the menu and at various locations around the ballpark. The in-house brewery will add three new beer offerings with Sandlot Shandy, Sandlot Slam and Wicked Hop.
