NL East champion Braves look to rebound from shutout loss in afternoon matchup against the Marlins
Despite losing three of their last four games, the Atlanta Braves have already punched their ticket to next week’s Major League Baseball playoffs as champions of the National League East Division, as they continue their final road trip of the regular season on Saturday afternoon, taking on the Miami Marlins at loanDepot park. The Marlins took two of three games from the Cubs earlier in the week and have now won three of their last four games against playoff-bound teams, needing to win out to post their second non-losing season since 2009. Atlanta will pull veteran lefty Brent Suter (0-2, 1.82 ERA) out of the bullpen for his first start since being acquired by the Braves at the trade deadline, while Miami will trot out rookie right-hander Jack Ralston (0-2, 4.50 ERA) for his first Major League start following 15 appearances as a reliever.

In his fifth season with the Braves, Atlanta first baseman Matt Olson leads the team with 41 home runs this season, ranking the 11-year veteran fourth in MLB, marking his fifth season with 30 or more homers and most since his career high 54 dingers set back in 2023.
